February 05, 2014. The official unemployment rate in Sverdlovsk Region was 1.18% on January 1, 2018. This is 0.11% lower than at the beginning of 2013 (the figure was 1.29% on January 1, 2013), Sverdlovsk Region Economics Ministry reports. The number of the unemployed who registered with the employment agencies came to 27,160 people on January 1, 2014, while the number of job openings announced by the local employers is actually 1.4 times bigger than the number of jobless people in the area, so the unemployed/vacancies ratio was 0.9 on January 1, 2014, which is 0.1 less than a year earlier.
