Sverdlovsk Region’s inflation rate comes to 8.5%

May 6, 2015. The prices of goods and services in Sverdlovsk Region went up by 0.4% in April 2015 and by 8.5% compared with the start of the year, Sverdlovskstat reports. Food items grew 0.1% and 12.5% more expensive, respectively, while alcohol drinks grew 1.5% and 6.4% costlier, respectively. The prices of non-food items rose by 0.9% in April 2015 and by 8.2% compared with the beginning of the year, while those of services remained the same in April as in the previous month yet rose by 4.6% compared with the beginning of 2015.

Ural Federal District-based debtors owe 80bn RUR in loans

Central Bank’s key interest rate goes down by 1.5%

May 5, 2015. The Bank of Russia decreased its refinancing rate by 1.5%, that is, down to 12.5%, the bank’s official website states. The bank decided to raise the rate by as many as 6.5% at once, up to 17%, in December 2014. This had to do with the need ‘to limit the dramatically increased devaluation and inflation risks’.
