UMMC opponent's detention extended till July 22, 2014

April 24, 2014. Tverskoy Court of Moscow extended eco-activist Igor Zhitenev's detention until July 22, 2014, In Protection of Khoper, a website, states. Igor Zhitenev is accused of extorting money from Ural Mining & Mountain Company representative (the charge is based on Article 163 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code). MMK to save 50m RUR on energy resources

The total economic effect resulting from energy-saving measures implemented by Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) in 2013 is expected to amount to more than 49.5m RUR over a twelve-month period, MMK PR Department reports. ChTPZ Group's Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant delivered 410,300,000 kg of steel pipes to consumers in the first quarter of 2014, which was 8% more than a year earlier (381,600,000 kg).
