EVRAZ KGOK Invests RUB 100m in Automating Sinter Preparation

15 April 2020 (09:21)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 15, 2020. EVRAZ Kachkanarsky Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (EVRAZ KGOK) installed forty new conveyor-belt-type gravimetric feeders for the raw stuffs used in sinter preparation; the company also upgraded its automatic system for controlling the batching out of furnace charge, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.

‘The furnace charge (concentrate, lime, and coke) now gets loaded into the system automatically, with high-precision control for the amount of every component used. We also had the automatic sampler upgraded to ensure instant control of the concentrate’s quality. All this helps make the loading process more stable, improve the sinter quality, reduce our coke spending and the amount of sinter that goes to waste, and thus cut the prime cost of the ready product,’ the company says.

The automation of batching-out processes is part of the overall analytical system for sinter production automation. The company’s technicians can now manage the entire production cycle from furnace charge to sinter. The system controls production parameters online, does the equipment diagnostics, and gets operated from a computer.
