The sales included 836,000,000 kg of the company’s own scrap metal and 586,000,000 kg of transit scrap metal.

According to Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) PR Group, Samaravtormet, UPN Vtorchermet, and META Perm were META’s top three member enterprises in terms of rising sales (+26,000,000 kg, +11,000,000 kg, and +6,000,000 kg, respectively).

The company set up nine new scrap metal depots at its daughter companies META Center, META Severo-Zapad, META Perm, UPN Vtorchermet, and META Yekaterinburg last year, which means the group now operates in three new constituencies: Tula Region, Kirov Region, and Vologda Region. To grow even more competitive, the company also bought new special-purpose vehicles, additional equipment (including gas generators), portable shearing presses, and service vans. Additionally, a united repair service was introduced as the entire Group’s skills center.

‘We sold 31% (9,100,000 kg) more highly profitable non-ferrous and alloyed scrap metal last year. This year, our ambitious goal is to improve and automate our business processes in accordance with a customer-oriented business development program that was adopted for all of the Group’s member enterprises in order to make these enterprises more efficient and to make the customers’ experience with this company better,’ says META Group’s Director-General Oleg Ryabko.

In 2019, META intends to work on supply and logistics improvement programs and to keep replacing its fixed assets with newer and better versions in order to gain larger shares of their local markets.
