Sverdlovsk Region’s IPI drops 8.3% in June

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 17, 2016. Sverdlovsk Region’s industrial production index dropped by 4.8% in July 2016 against June 2016 and by 0.5% against one year earlier, Sverdlovskstat reports. In the fossil development sector, the IPI declined by 0.7% against June 2016 and by 10.1% against one year earlier. In the processing industries, the IPI rose by 2.4% against July 2015 and declined by 4.4% against June 2016. In the sector for production and distribution of water, natural gas, and electric power, the IPI dropped by 3% against July 2015 and by 14% against June 2016.

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 16, 2015. Sverdlovsk Region’s industrial production index dropped by 3.7% in the first half of 2015 compared with the first half of 2014, Sverdlovskstat reports. At the same time, the index rose by 5.7% in June 2015 compared with the previous month. The index declined by 12.1% in the fossil industry and by 1% in the processing industry compared with January-June 2014. The figures decreased most in the fossil fuels sector (-82.7%), textile and clothing sector (-56%), and pulp and paper and publishing sector (-22.7%). Against April 2015, the IPI dropped down by 9.4% in the fossil production sector, by 13.1% in the processing industry, and by 2.8% in the sector for production and distribution of electric power, natural gas, and water. Compared with March 2016, the figures declined by 11.8%, 5.1%, and 15.9%, respectively. At the same time, Sverdlovsk Region’s IPI was 9.8% higher in January-April 2016 against January-April 2015.

The processing industries’ IPI rose by 5.6%, that of the companies involved in production and distribution of electric power, natural gas, and steam rose by 10.4%, and that of fossil-extracting companies declined by 13.2%. As for the month of September, Sverdlovsk Region’s industrial production index declined by 5.3% compared with August 2017 and rose by 8.4% compared with July 2016.

The fossils extraction industry’s index declined by 9.6%. Sverdlovsk Region’s IPI for July 2017 was 0.5% lower than in June 2017 and 2.5% higher than in July 2016.
