Sverdlovsk Region Minister Alexei Pyankov Detained by Court

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 29, 2016. Yekaterinburg Leninsky District Court upheld a motion regarding the detainment of Alexei Pyankov, Sverdlovsk Region Public Property Management Minister, who will remain in detention until June 25.

The official was detained after a search of his home and office on April 26. The searches were related to two criminal lawsuits, one of them with charges of bribe-taking (Article 291 (Part 5) and Article 291.1 (Part 4) of the Russian Federation Criminal Code).

‘The inquiry officers believe the minister accepted a total of 31.5m RUR worth of bribes for facilitation of a buyout procedure, whereupon a piece of real estate belonging to the bribe-giver could be sold for a price several times greater than the object’s actual worth,’ Russia’s Investigative Committee’s press service reports.

Deputy Ministers Artem Bogachev and Konstantin Nikanorov are also involved in the suit.

Energomash goes to court for neglect to pay

April 8, 2015. Sysert-based Energomash-Uralgidromash is now involved in a criminal suit, with charges of neglect to pay workers’ wages, Sverdlovsk Region public prosecution authorities’ press service reports. It was determined that the company owed its workers more than 68.7m RUR as of April 1, 2015. The money is owed for the period between November 2014 and March 2015. Corruption-related crime figures to up 15% in Sverdlovsk Region

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 30, 2015. 431 instances of corruption-related crimes were registered in Sverdlovsk Region in the first half of 2015, which exceeded the figures for a year earlier by 15%, head of Sverdlovsk Region Prosecution Service’s Anti-Corruption Enforcement division Vladimir Kurochkin announced at a press conference in Yekaterinburg. Kurochkin said fifty-five cases out of these involved charges of bribe-taking (Article 290 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code), twenty-two involved charges of abuse of power (Article 285), and some of them – charges of fraud (Article 159). 195

YugraGaz’s Former Director to Pay 4m RUR Fine for Bribe-Taking

The former director of OAO YugraGaz was found guilty of bribe-taking, the public prosecution authorities of Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region Yugra report. Rosimushchestvo Offical to Pay 5m RUR Fine

Head of Public Property Control Department at Rosimushchestvo’s Sverdlovsk Region division Ilya Trunilin was found guilty of bribe-taking (Article 290 (part 3) of the Russian Federation Criminal Code), the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region Court reports. The Director of Alliance-Techno 2002 V. Ivanov appealed to Trunilin in March 2011, asking him to facilitate the signing of a warehouse rental contract. The hangar for automobile storage and repairs has the area of 1,500 sq m, is located in the village of Istok, is managed by the Russian Agricultural Academy’s Istok, and belongs to the state.

AMUR ex-director charged with power abuse
