Yekaterinburg car market sags 30%

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 25, 2016. 4,041 new cars were sold in Yekaterinburg in the first two months of the year 2016, which was actually 30% less than one year earlier, Auto-Dealer-Yekaterinburg reports.

The market shrank by a quarter in February, with local dealers selling 2,333 automobiles (-25%).

Broken down by the most popular brands, the sales figures look like this: 571 Ladas (the current bestseller on Yekaterinburg market), 529 Toyotas (the best-selling foreign brand at the moment), and 310 Hyundais. The latter is now among the three brands whose sales decreased the most over the last two months.

According to Auto-Dealer-Yekaterinburg, 12,254 new automobiles were sold in Yekaterinburg in January and February 2012, which is 35%, or 3,054 cars more than in the two months of 2011. 7,029 cars were sold in the city in February alone, which was 39%, or 1,961 cars more than a year earlier. 68,929 new passenger cars were sold in Yekaterinburg in ten months of 2011, which was 26,710 cars, or 63%, more than in ten months of 2010, Auto-Dealer Yekaterinburg reports. 7,618 passenger cars were sold in the city in October 2011, which exceeded the figures for a year earlier by 2,311 cars, or 44%.
