Nomos Bank Closes Down Yekaterinburg Branch

NOMOS Bank is reducing the number of offices it operates in the Urals. For one, the bank will soon leave Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Regions. NOMOS’s outlets will be handed over to Khanty-Mansiysky Bank which is actually co-owned by NOMOS, NOMOS Bank’s President Dmitri Sokolov told the reporters at a press conference in Yekaterinburg. NOMOS Bank currently runs two offices in Yekaterinburg and one office in Kamensk-Uralsky. As for the Southern Urals, there is one office in each of these: Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk, and Trekhgorny. OAO Nomos-Bank announced it had bought a 19.98% shareholding in OAO Khanty-Mansiyskiy Bank. In fact, Nomos-Bank acquired a 100% state in OOO IST-Capital which owns 19.98% of OAO Khanty-Mansiyskiy Bank. The company is part of Alexander Nesis’s IST Group; now Nesis is one of Nomos-Bank’s primary stockholders, the bank’s press service reports. Both OAO Nomos-Bank and OAO Khanty-Mansiyskiy Bank will keep operating under their current brand names.

OAO Khanty-Mansiyskiy Bank recently got a new shareholder Karolton Associates Limited. The company now co-owns 11.33% of the bank’s shares. A little while earlier, OAO Nomos-Bank reported it had acquired a 19.98% shareholding in the bank. Nomos-Bank actually bought 100% of OOO IST Capital that owns 19.98% of Khanty-Mansiyskiy Bank’s shares. IST Capital is a member of Alexander Nesis’s IST Group, Nesis being one of Nomos-Bank’s major stockholders, the bank’s press officer explained. Nomos-Bank still intends to buy the state-owned 44% shareholding in Khanty-Mansiysky Bank, the bank’s Executive Director for International Business Yuri Lekarev said at a banking forum in London, RIA Novosti reports. The bank announced earlier than its share in Khanty-Mansiysky Bank would go down from 31.31% to 7.79% as part of the banking group’s internal restructuring program; the shares were handed over to Nomos-Bank’s two daughter enterprises. Nomos-Bank, which accumulated 51.3% of Khanty-Mansiysky Bank’s shares in 2010, is considering buying out the remainder of the stock provided that the share price is appealing, the bank’s IPO memorandum states. ‘It’s possible that we will acquire the remainder of the shares in Khanty-Mansiysky Bank at a good price. Nomos-Bank is planning to buy the shareholding belonging to Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region-Yugra,’ the memorandum says. Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region-Yugra currently owns a 44.20% shareholding in the bank.
