Uralvagonzavod BOD Chairman Evgeny Shkolov Resigns

An independent expert Evgeny Shkolov was recently elected BOD Chairman of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation. Shkolov thus replaced Deputy Industry & Trade Minister Denis Manturov, the Kremlin website reports. Prior to this new appointment, Evgeny Shkolov was Deputy Minister of the Interior. He was asked to resign after a certification audit. The Internal Affairs Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev explained that some of his deputies, including Shkolov, would get new appointments after the completion of the audit, RIA Novosti says.

June 11, 2013. ‘Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that transformed Uralvagonzavod Production Association into Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation,’ Uralvagonzavod’s Information Management Director Boris Mineev said to UrBC. ‘The President must have thought this was the only way to cut back on tank-building and armor production in Russia. Uralvagonzavod will now lead nine enterprises, seven research institutes, and four engineering departments under a single brand known as Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation,’ Mr. Mineev noted.

November 14, 2013. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation plans to take part in the construction of a railway carriage-making plant in Vietnam, the corporation’s press service reports. On November 12, a memorandum on cooperation was signed by Vietnam-Russia Joint Bank and Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation in Hanoi, Vietnam. The ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang. February 10, 2015. Rosneft and Uralvagonzavod Corporation are starting to work together on scientific research on, production of and introduction of hi tech lubricating materials. According to the corporation’s press service, the oil company representatives attended Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant in order to hold talks on the partnership agreement that was signed by Rosneft President and Chairman of the Board Igor Sechin and Uralvagonzavod Corporation Director-General Oleg Sienko. The talks resulted in a cooperation strategy and in plans to develop, test, and produce lubricating
