UFU Suspected of Violating Antimonopoly Law

Sverdlovsk Region division of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service received a complaint from Lider Chistoty regarding B.N. Yeltsin Ural Federal University, the coordinator of a tender for cleaning services (open auction 208А-2011) for the university and for the UFU Classical Education Center (open auction 211-А-2011).

Ural Federal University is now involved in a lawsuit, with charges based on Article 17 of the Competition Protection Act: the university is suspected of favoritism towards one or several tender applicants, which was manifested in not providing the bidder with information regarding the outcome of the auctions.

Investtorgbank Suspected of Violating Competition Protection Law

UrBC, Moscow, July 19, 2011. Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service took legal action against Investtorgbank: the bank is suspected of violating Article 14 of the Federal Competition Protection Act (unfair competition). The FAS had received a citizen’s complaint regarding Investtorgbank’s refusal to let him top up his Perspective deposit, even though the deposit agreement provided for the opportunity to top up the account. Uniastrum Bank Suspected of Violating Competition Protection Law

UrBC, Moscow, July 20, 2011. Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service took legal action against Uniastrum Bank: the bank is suspected of violating Article 14 of the Federal Competition Protection Act (unfair competition). The FAS had received citizens’ complaints regarding the bank’s refusal to let them top up their deposits, even though the deposit agreements provided for the opportunity to top up the account. The case will be heard in court on September 19, 2011.

Ural Federal University to get state subsidies

UrBC, Moscow, August 24, 2010. B.N. Yeltsin Ural Federal University is to get a state subsidy for innovational development, the Russian Federation Ministry of Education’s portal says. The Urals-based university was chosen as one of the winners of a tender targeted at selecting the innovational infrastructure development programs alongside with fifty other universities from thirty-six federal constituencies.

Russian Railways violates competition protection law

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service declared that Russian Railways violated Article 17 of the Federal Competition Protection Act (the one which prohibits favoritism towards a bidder in an auction), FAS’s press service reports. The company’s offense consisted in the following: Russian Railways conducted its Tender 907 on thirteen different offers; eight lots consisted in the opportunity to sign car insurance agreements with Russian Railways subsidiaries in 2010-2013, that is, for the duration of three years. Uralsvyazinform might face prosecution

Sverdlovsk Region division of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service keeps investigating the previously postponed Case 50 involving OAO Uralsvyazinform; the telecommunications provider is suspected of violating Article 18 (part 1) of the Competition Protection Law. It has been alleged that the company backed out of a tender for the financial organizations despite the fact that the law requires that tenders be used for placing orders for financial services on a contract basis.
