RusLine cancels two flights to Yekaterinburg

11 November 2010 (11:05)

ZAO RusLine Airlines called off two flights bound for Yekaterinburg – flight RG 4416 from Samara and flight RG 824 from Kiev, Yekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport’s interactive announcement board says.

The plane from Kiev was to have landed in Yekaterinburg at 9:30 PM local time on November 10, 2010, the one from Samara was to have arrived at 2:40 PM. In fact, Samara-Yekaterinburg flight had already been delayed by over fourteen hours before.

Today, RusLine delayed as many as three flights at once: the ones from Noviy Urengoy, Samara, and Mineralniye Vody.

The air carrier’s Yekaterinburg office told UrBC that all the three flights get operated using one and the same aircraft CRJ 200, so the fog in Mineralniye Vody broke off the entire series of flights.

‘Because of the fog, the airplane had to make an emergency landing in Stavropol, with passengers taken to Mineralniye Vody by bus. Then, the passengers waiting for their flight in Mineralniye Vody were taken to Stavropol airport for their Yekaterinburg-bound flight. Now the airplane is here in Yekaterinburg, but it’s already high time it was flying to Noviy Urengoy where forty-four transit passengers (transiting from Mineralniye Vody, in fact) are waiting. When the plane comes back later, other flights will be pending. Our airline cannot allow for such a big delay to happen, this is why the flights were called off,’ RusLine explains.

The airline has suggested that passengers with tickets for flights RG 4416 and RG 824 get their money back or fly on Saturday.
