UC RUSAL appoints a new member to ITS Board of Directors

Moscow, 21 April 2008 - UC RUSAL, the worlds largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jivko Savov to its Board of Directors.



Jivko Savov is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Eurosibenergo and Managing Director for Energy at EN+, where he has been managing a portfolio of power and energy assets since 2006.



Mr. Jivko Savov worked for over 12 years in the energy sector within asset management, business development and structured finance.



Commenting on his appointment, Jivko Savov said: I am delighted to have an opportunity to work with the highly professional team at UC RUSAL and apply my experience to developing the companys position as a global mining corporation with a strong energy base.



Biography:



From 2002 until 2006, Jivko Savov was Head of Energy Investments at MMC Energy Europe and Equest Partners in London. He managed private equity investments in power and renewable energy projects, oil and gas, and metals in Eastern Europe and Russia. Prior to that, he worked as a manager in structured marketing and origination with EDF Trading in London, where he was responsible for the East European and Benelux markets.



Before joining EDF Trading, Mr Savov worked for Enron Europe, London in the project finance and trading teams covering South East Europe and Turkey. He began his career in 1996 at the World Bank as Project Officer for the Energy and State Enterprise sectors.



Mr Savov holds an MBA from INSEAD, France and a MSc in International Relations (with Honours) from MGIMO, Russia.
