The experts from Yekaterinburg Department of Sverdlovsk Region division of Rospotrebnadzor (the state consumer rights watchdog) inspected fourteen cosmetics manufacturers and sellers based in the central districts of Yekaterinburg last year, the Department’s press officer reports.
It was revealed that a number of companies sold bottles of Taft hairspray (produced by Krasnaya Liniya based in Odintsovo, Moscow Region), Drakosha pineapple-scented kids’ shampoo and Lesnoy Balsam toothpaste/Fitovital TM (all produced by Yekaterinburg-based Concern Kalina), President whitening toothpaste (made in Italy), and Lacalut whitening and regular toothpastes (made in Germany) that had no manufacturing date on the packaging or the products themselves. Besides, Concern Kalina’s Chistaya Liniya herbal hair conditioner had no instructions on how to use it, while Palmolive liquid soap with added almond milk (made in Turkey), Blend-a-med whitening toothpaste, and Londa Color 45 hair dye (made in Germany) had no certificates accompanying the products.
Following these inspections and lab testing of products, the manufacturers and sellers had to face administrative liability, pay fines, and eliminate the violations.
