1,212 wage arrears offenses revealed in Sverdlovsk Region in January-April 2007

Sverdlovsk Region’s law-enforcement officers keep monitoring the local companies’ compliance with the wage-paying regulations; they have already revealed 1,212 wage arrears offenses since the beginning of 2007. This resulted in 298 claims regarding the payment of salaries that were supposed to have been paid to workers but never were that were placed with courts. The total damage is estimated at 1.8 million RUR. 247 administrative suits have been filed so far, with offenders having to pay more than 40,000 RUR worth of fines. 102 people will be prosecuted, 167 executives have received warnings, and 166 illegitimate acts have been impugned. Director of Tavda-based Lotos Ltd. G. Menshenina, director of Yekaterinburg-based Best Consulting Limited I. Morozova, general director of Monolit Ltd. (based in Krasnoturinsk) A. Guryanov, and head of Yekaterinburg-based Consul Ltd. N. Dolgotko will have to undergo criminal trials.
