Cleanup to be finished very soon, claims Yekaterinburg council
9 April 2007 (12:28)
Mayor of Yekaterinburg Arkadiy Chernetskiy met city district heads to make sure all the cleanup activities in the streets and backyards were performed thoroughly.
According to the spokesperson for the city council, the mayor also looked into how the problems revealed in the course of site inspections had been dealt with. The Mayor said the cleanup process had to be completed very soon, so this and the next week should be devoted to finishing up with the streets and sidewalks. Some districts will have to catch up with the others in terms of de-cluttering the streets or in terms of handling the remaining snow.
April will become the month of traditional Cleanup Days when companies and city dwellers usually take part in improving the state of the backyards. Deputy Mayor Konstantin Krynin is going to examine the city districts this week to see how well the housing services manage, the spokesperson says.
