‘Due to the incident at Heathrow airport on August 10, 2006, the British Government had to issue some recommendations to all carriers that perform transit flights using the airport; they apply to transit visitors only, so a person flying from, say, Yekaterinburg to London will not have to observe any regulations,’ the spokesperson for British Airways in Yekaterinburg Maria Shlyachtova said to UrBC representative.
The recommendations state that all passengers flying from Heathrow shall not take any cabin luggage with them, except for flight documents, wallets, glasses without a case, lenses without solution, flight medications (with the exception of liquids), and keys without pendants. Passengers with children are allowed to have baby food and sanitary items they need during the flight. All electric appliances, including mobile phones and laptops, have to be placed in the luggage compartment.
