Metallurgical Works of Chelyabinsk and Ural Smithy JSC to raise metal produce supplies to Kazakhstan

Metallurgical Works of Chelyabinsk and Ural Smithy JSC (part of MEchel JSC) took part in the International exhibition PromStroyIndustriya – Astana 2006. The total number of the participants amounted to 250 companies from 12 countries of the world.

The spokesperson for Metallurgical Works of Chelyabinsk reports that Mechel stand exhibited samples of most items the works produces, from fittings to steel samples to packs and rolls of stainless steel, as well as samples of stamped blanks for oil and gas industry and machine building produced by Ural Smithy JSC. The two companies view their participation as an extra opportunity to set up more links with their Kazakh counterparts.

Metallurgical Works of Chelyabinsk produced over 160,000 tonnes of metal goods, mainly those used in building industry, for Kazakh companies in 2005. This is 221% more than the year before. Ural Smithy JSC shipped 500 tonnes of produce (an increase of 230%) to Kazakhstan in 2005.
