ChelPipe Group Supplies 150,000,000+ kg of Pipes for TAPI Pipeline in Turkmenistan

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 26, 2019. ChelPipe Group supplied more than 150,000,000 kg of pipelines for the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India Pipeline (TAPI) by order of the state-owned concern TurkmenGaz.
According to ChelPipe Group’s press service, the pipes with corrosion-resistant outer coating (diameter: 1,422 mm; steel grade: X70) are meant for the construction of the line section of the pipeline in Turkmenistan. ChelPipe Group was the only Russian company out of ninety-four applicants to have passed every stage of the qualifications-based selection procedure and to have suggested the best terms of delivery.
‘Additionally, working on this project also helped to complete a sophisticated transaction involving islamic banking mechanisms and an acknowledgement of obligation to pay for more than $200m worth of produce that was coordinated by Sberbank, Islamic Development Bank, and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan,’ the Group’s press service says.
