Yekaterinburg’s District Akademicheskiy to Get Culture Center

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 4, 2019. Yekaterinburg Council is coordinating a contest for the architectural concept of a new office/culture center in the city’s District Akademicheskiy, the town council’s website states.

It is announced that the contest follows from RSG-Akademicheskoye’s recent request for a unique, multifunctional public space within Akademicheskiy.

The Center will get put up within Wilhelm de Gennin St.-Timofeyev-Resovsky St.- Akademik Sakharov St. The place will include the district court building, the military commissariat, the district’s public prosecution authorities’ office, a post office, a division of the Federal Service of Court Officers, a tax inspectorate, a division of Sverdlovsk Region’s Ministry for Social Policy, a registrar’s office, and the Russian Pension Fund’s branch. Parking space will be provided next to every building.

The pedestrian area is meant to connect the central square to the embankment, Preobrazhensky Park, the square next to the Church of God’s Holy Builders, and other important spots.

According to the town council, the contest will get coordinated on April 2-July 16, 2019, with the candidate selection procedure to be finalized on May 6. The competition is free to take part in; the prize fund provided by RSG-Akademicheskoye comes to RUB 1 million.
