24 July 2018 (09:21)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 24, 2018. Ural Airlines are introducing a new flight from Moscow Region’s Zhukovsky Airport to Kaliningrad; the flight will be available every Saturday, the air carrier’s press service reports.
U6 637 will be available between July 28 and September 29, 2018. Departure time (Zhukovsky Airport): 6:30 PM; flight duration: two hours; prices start from: RUR 5,000 (all fees included).
‘Kaliningrad, formerly the German town of Königsberg, is a bit of Europe on the map of Russia, or a bit of Russia on the map of Europe. Even though the old city had beed destroyed and the fairy-tale-like colorful little houses and Königsberg Castle couldn’t be restored, today’s town is still very beautiful. There’s the Cathedral, where Immanuel Kant was buried, the well-preserved parts of Amalienau with its old German villas dating back to the start of the 20th century, the fortification walls around the town’s borders, Russia’s largest organ, a number of Protestant churches, the upside down house, the Ocean Museum, and a large zoo. Kaliningrad Region is also quite fascinating: Curonian Spit (a 98-kilometer-long narrow stretch of land separating the Baltic Sea and the sweet-water Curonian Lagoon, famous for its unique flora and fauna) is an experience not to be missed. You could also visit Svetlogorsk to look for bits of amber and breathe in the fresh sea breeze,’ Ural Airlines say.
Tickets for Zhukovsky-Kaliningrad flights are already on offer and can be booked on the company website www.uralairlines.com, via Ural Airlines mobile app, over the phone на номер +7-800-7700-262, or at any booking office.
