UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 24, 2018. Some 17,000 Sverdlovsk Region locals had no electric power supply due to a storm on May 22, 2018.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Emergencies’ Sverdlovsk Region division’s press service, the storm was over by 10PM local time, so MRSK Urala’s engineers managed to restore the power supply in the homes of roughly 10,000 people by then.

‘We are done with all the repair jobs in the south, north, and east of Sverdlovsk Region. For one, everything is in order in Sysert, Irbit, Artemovsky, and Serov, as well as in Revda,’ the press service says.

The storm also caused power outages in Zapadny and Gornozavodskoy.

Thirty-nine rescue teams (107 people altogether) and thirty-five special-purpose vehicles have been deployed to fix the problems.
