EVRAZ NTMK Supplies Rail Wheels to Slovakia

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 15, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) supplied its first batch of railway wheels to Slovakia, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s press service reports.
NTMK is to deliver some 1,000 freight railcar wheels to the repair company ZOS Trnava this year all in all.
‘ZOS Trnava is EVRAZ Holding’s new customer and one of Europe’s top five railcar repair companies alongside ÖBB TS Werk Knittelfeld (Austria), Kolowag (Bulgaria), FWN (Germany), and SZ-Vit (Slovenia), with all of which the holding does business already,’ the press service says.
‘Orders placed by railcar repair companies are an important part of our sales structure, as these businesses typically buy over 70% of our wheels. Besides, an increase in our European sales improves our position on this top-priority market,’ says EVRAZ Vice President for Sales & Logistics Ilya Shirokobrod.
EVRAZ NTMK is one of the world’s five largest rail wheel manufacturers. The plant makes wheels for both freight and passenger railcars as well as for locomotives.
