Yekaterinburg Among Top 5 Cheapest Places for World Cup 2018 Visitors

5 December 2017 (09:22)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 5, 2017. Yekaterinburg proved to be among five least expensive locations to stay in for visitors coming for the World Football Championship of 2018, the Russian accommodation renting service tvil.ru refers to its research findings as indicating.

The rating was based on an analysis of rental prices for tourists in 2017.

Saransk will be the cheapest place to stay (RUR 1,540 a night on average), followed by Volgograd (RUR 1,718), and Rostov-on-Don (RUR 1,954). Yekaterinburg comes fourth, with the average price of a hotel/hostel stay at RUR 2,396 a night.

Nizhniy Novgorod, on the other hand, offers the priciest accommodation options (RUR 3,711 a night on average), as do Moscow and Kaliningrad (RUR 3,459 and RUR 2,927, respectively). Sochi and Saint Petersburg stand somewhat in the middle, with plenty of market supply despite the ever-high demand.

Still, tvil.ru expects a 50% to 100% increase in rental prices from both private landlords and hotels during the World Cup days; hostels and apartments for RUR 1,000 to RUR 2,000 per person a night are likely to prove the cheapest options available.
