UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 21, 2016. Senior Engineer from Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant’s design office Konstantin Girfanov was awarded Russia’s Federal Military & Technological Cooperation Service’s honorary certificate as Young Talent; this was part of the annual Golden Idea National Prize ceremony, the company press service reports.
The prize committee was quite impressed with the 29-year-old designer’s project on development and production of testing equipment for Armata-based military vehicles. The award was presented by Assistant to the Russian Federation President for Military & Technological Cooperation Vladimir Kozhin and the Service’s Director Alexander Fomin.
‘The military vehicles made at Ural Vagon Zavod must meet the highest quality and reliability standards, which is why testing and trial runs are an essential part of the production process. The development of new Armata-based military vehicles means we need production upgrades and retooling as well as new testing equipment,’ the press service says.
Konstantin Girfanov has been working at Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation since 2009; he has completed over fifteen independent projects on testing equipment development so far, seven of which are meant for testing Armata-based vehicles.
