UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 6, 2016. Siemens and Sinara Group’s joint venture Ural Locomotives introduced new technological solutions at their rolling stock dispatcher unit on October 1, 2016.
According to Sinara Group’s press service, the unit has been around for five years now, and dispatchers operate 24/7 to track all the locomotives and Lastochka electric trains currently used by Russian Railways.
‘Now, thanks to UL Service, our custom-made, unique information system, the dispatchers can obtain updated diagnostic data on every bit and system of a loco or train and react promptly to any change in their performance, which ensures failure-free service and cuts down on idle times,’ the press service says.
The new solutions help deal with a whole range of issues relating to efficient management of repair and maintenance in close cooperation with loco operators and repair mechanics.
