Sergey Kovalev Beats Isaac Chilemba in Yekaterinburg

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 13, 2016. Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev beat Malavi’s Isaac Chilemba in a twelve-round match.
Kovalev thus gets to keep all of his three light heavyweight champion titles: the WBO title (for the 8th time) and the WBA and the IBF ones (for the fourth time).
Neither Kovalev nor Chilemba proved impressively stronger from the start, but the Russian boxer managed to drop the challenger in the seventh round. Still, Chilemba got up and remained on his feet until the end of the game.
This is the first time Kovalev has competed Russia in the last five years. The game was organized by Russian Copper Company and Titov Boxing Promotions. Kovalev’s overall score is 30-0-1, 26 KO, Chilemba’s is 29-4-2, 10 KO.
