Yurga Plant Buys New Welding Equipment
27 June 2016 (09:09)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 27, 2016. Yurga Machine-Building Plant (a member enterprise of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) purchased a new low-frequency vibration treatment unit, the company press service reports.
‘One of the things the plant does is making metal structures that require sophisticated mechanical treatment. Some of these structures weigh over 10,000 kg, which results in high residual welding stress figures after the welding is done. Also, it is very expensive to use thermal treatment furnaces that are big enough for these. This is why it was decided to introduce this low-frequency vibration treatment method suggested by Saint Petersburg-based MAGNIT Plus. The new unit will redistribute the residual welding stress in the seam and the area next to it and will make sure the welded section will last as long as the rest of the metal structure,’ the pres service says.
The unit is expected to arrive at the plant in the nearest future; it will be put to use as soon as it gets there.
