UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 25, 2016. SKB-Bank is planning to restore Verkh-Isetsky Plant hospital building in Yekaterinburg, a structure on the constituency’s cultural heritage list. The building was purchased in an auction for 1 RUR (although its actual worth, together with the patch of land around, was estimated at 23m RUR), the bank’s press service reports.

The hospital building at 15 Verkh-Isetsky Boulevard dates back to the first half of the 19th century and is a classicist piece put up by the architect M.P. Malakhov in 1824-1826. It is currently on Sverdlovsk Region’s cultural heritage list and, left as it is, might not last very long.

‘This historic building is located next to the facilities for the World Cup 2018 and is in a deplorable state at the moment. As its new proprietor, SKB-Bank intends to stop the deterioration, restore the facades first and the original layouts and interiors later on,’ the press service says.
