UrBC, Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, November 19, 2015. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) placed its catalogue of automobile steels on the company website.

‘To make things easier for our customers in the car-making industry, we placed an interactive electronic catalogue of various grades of steel the company offers them. There are separate rubrics on every steel type, with information on chemical composition, mechanical properties, sheet width and other measurements, and so on,’ the company says.

The catalogue is available at www.mmk.ru’s home page under the heading that reads Automobile Steel as well as in the Information for Customers/Products menu option or at www.mmk.ru/catalogs/metal_products/automotive_industry.

Car-making industry is currently one of MMK’s most promising and important markets. The launch of cold-roll Mill2000 has meant the company could expand its range of good quality automobile body sheets and other products considerably. These are targeted not only at Russian customers but also at international car-makers operating their production factories in Russia.

Thanks to the mill’s technological capacities, MMK’s cold-rolled and galvanized products now meet the strictest quality requirements set for surface quality and width precision and have the anti-corrosion phosphate coating option. The company has recently mastered production of over fifty different steel types that all meet the European standards; most of these are ultralow-carbon IF steels of varying strengths and bake-hardening steels, including the ones in Group C (highest surface quality). These steels are used for outer parts of a car.
