Uralvagonzavod launches new equipment
1 October 2015 (09:05)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 1, 2015. Three new 5,000-kg electric bridge cranes made in Russia were mounted at Uralvagonzavod’s Casting Department 2, the company press service reports.
The new cranes were custom-made for Uralvagonzavod, as their parameters had to be different from the standard measurements. For one, the leadstock pieces had to be 100mm narrower than the standard size.
These modern cranes are used for making rolling stock, including the innovative gondola cars 12-196-01. The cranes have already been assembled and are now operating at the department’s three busiest sectors. The cabins are very comfortable, which makes the operators’ working conditions much more pleasant. The glazing prevents dust from getting inside and provides noise insulation. Also, there’s a heating system that can be used in the winter.
