Sverdlovsk Region’s living wage to go up 11% in early 2015

December 10, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region Government adopted a draft provision on the minimum wage in the first quarter of 2015.

‘The draft provision under consideration was drawn up in accordance with the local Acts 15 OZ adopted on January 4, 1995 and 47 OZ adopted on May 24, 2013 and is based on a methodology approved by the Russian Federation Government,’ says Sverdlovsk Region Economics Minister Dmitri Nozhenko.

He explained the living wage in Sverdlovsk Region would amount to 8,025 RUR a month in the first quarter of 2015 (8,568 RUR a month for a working-age resident, 6,622 RUR for a retiree, and 8,093 RUR for a child).

The average figure is 11% greater than that for the first quarter of 2014 (the living wage of a working-age person was 10.9% lower, that of a retiree was 11.5% lower, and that of a child was 11.8% lower at the start of this year).
