October 13, 2014. Experts from South Yekaterinburg division of Rospotrebnadzor (the state consumer rights watchdog) in Sverdlovsk Region inspected OOO Labyrinth Yekaterinburg and found unsafe alcohol produce at Red & White Wine Store at 37 Shcherbakov St in Yekaterinburg in September 2014. The strong drink is no longer sold there, Rospotrebnadzor’s press service reports.

A lab test protocol provided by Sverdlovsk Region Hygiene & Epidemiology Center indicates that Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Liqueur in a 0.7-liter bottle (bottled on June 15, 2013), 1926 Fayetteville Hwy Lynchburg, Tennessee, 37352, USA (Importer: OOO BIG, Moscow 115201, Russia) contains benzyl benzoate. Now according to the general safety requirements (technical regulations of the Customs Union "On Food Safety" (TR TC 021/ 2011)), no alcohol produce meant for sale can have any benzyl benzoate content.

Rospotrebnadzor ordered for the sale of the said strong drink to stop. The materials relating to the case will be forwarded to court so that the culprits face administrative liability.
