May 31, 2013. The Director-General of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation Oleg Sienko, who is the general coordinator of the Russia Arms EXPO exhibition, spoke about the agenda of the exhibition and on the features RAE 2013 will present to the military community in an interview to Business Guide, the corporation’s press officer reports.

‘The domestic defense sector is now at the stage of dynamic revival: the state has been investing heavily in the purchase of ammunitions and production facilities upgrades; besides, a legislature has been prepared for placing and fulfilling the government defense industry orders, and the relations between the customers for this orders and their suppliers are growing more productive and constructive,’ the press release states.

Thanks to all this, the defense sector, which used to be enormous in the Soviet times and which shrank considerably in the post-Soviet era, is finally recovering. Of course, there are still quite a few problems to struggle with: lack of cadre, the plant and laboratory equipment some of which is obsolete, and the nearly used-up technologies resource bank that dates back to the USSR epoch. However, Russian Government Vice Premier Dmitri Rogozin, who is supervising the country’s defense sector, it’s time we got back to work; the unified efforts of the authorities, the industrial enterprises, the expert community, and the general public will result in the revival of the Russian defense sector and in its moving to the next stage of technological quality.
