27 August 2012 (09:21)
The agenda of the third day of the 7th International Russian Defense Expo 2012 opened with the awarding ceremony where Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) Scientific Production Corporation’s workers were given thank-you letters signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. 19 employees were also given Honorary Awards for their proactive position in life and for setting up the Protection of the Man of Labor Movement. The awards were given out by Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh, the company’s press service reports.
‘For over 70 years, Uralvagonzavod has been working to increase the wealth and the power of this stage, and its achievements have always been noticed. The plant’s six orders and an immense number of honored workers is one proof of this. The President’s decision to motivate you in this way is a worthy estimate of what you did for Russia,’ Kholmanskikh said.
Russian Vice Premier Dmitri Rogozin, who took part in the Russian Defense Expo 2012, also spoke about the great importance of the event.
‘These thank-you letters have once again raised the prestige of the vocational specializations, which means they work to achieve our main purpose: turning Russia into a developed industrial country,’ Rogozin said.
The Vice Premier looked at the fair and paid a visit to UVZ Corporation’s stand and had a chance to assess the life-size vehicle samples in the open field. He then took part in an informal press conference that was held over a cup of tea. The conference was also attended by Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev, Vice Governor and candidate for the Mayor of Nizhniy Tagil Sergey Nosov, and heads of the exhibition’s primary coordinators: Director-General of NTIIM Federal State Unitary Enterprise Valery Rudenko and Director-General of UVZ Oleg Sienko.
The press conference was dedicated to the development of the Russian defense industry, to the promising ammunition samples, and to the future of Nizhniy Tagil and its Staratel range. Vice Premier spoke very favorably of UVZ’s fighting machine.
‘Terminator is my first love. This is a great, incredibly powerful machine that is indispensable precisely in the urban quarters and that always makes a strong impression at fairs. The West has no counterparts to offer. This is why I decided that I will personally accompany the foreign customers who show an interest in Terminator,’ Rogozin said.
