The launch of the Kingdom of Thailand’s trade or diplomatic mission in the region might give a new impulse to the development of economic relations between Sverdlovsk Region and Thailand, Chairman of Sverdlovsk Region Government Vladimir Vlasov said in the course of his official meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Russia Itti Ditbanchong.

‘The Mid-Urals and Thailand’s cooperation is an ongoing process. It now mainly covers the humanities-related fields, but the cooperation potential is definitely far from being used up at the moment. Sverdlovsk Region is interested in building up on its foreign economic relations, this is why setting up the post of an honorary consul of Thailand to Yekaterinburg could enhance the degree of trust between entrepreneurs on both sides and make the exchange of information much easier,’ Vlasov said when greeting the Asian tiger’s delegation.

The Ambassador, in his turn, suggested that the region’s government voice their preferences and come up with a list of suitable candidates for the honorable mission of being an honorary consul.
