Region’s budget can’t finance Innoprom, Minister says

29.06.2010
‘The idea behind Innoprom was to make this an annual event. Budget money has been invested in this project, so we need this investment to pay off. Any kind of cooperation and attracting serious investors would be very much welcomed. The exhibition’s budget is very impressive, which is why neither a single company nor the regional budget can fully finance the project on its own. We need to consolidate our efforts,’ Sverdlovsk Region’s Minister for Industry and Science Alexander Petrov announced at a press conference in Yekaterinburg.

Innoprom 2010, the Ural International Industry & Innovations Exhibition/Forum, will take place in Yekaterinburg on July 15-18, 2010. The event will probably be attended by Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

All in all, the Minister feels unpleasantly many problems emerged in the course of the preparation for the exhibition. Most of the problems had to do with financing and deadlines.

‘On June 30, 2010, Head of Sverdlovsk Region Government will commission the exhibition area to see if it is ready for the stands; as soon as the next day, the participant firms will enter the site and start assembling their stands and presentation areas,’ Alexander Petrov explained.
