Uralvagonzavod to set up creditors’ committee

15.06.2009
Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel met up with the General Director of Uralvagonzavod Oleg Sienko, head of the Governor’s Administration Alexander Levin, and Head of Sverdlovsk Region Government Viktor Koksharov.

The Governor criticized bitterly the industrial giant’s new management team’s policies in the course of his last press conference. Rossel said Oleg Sienko’s mode of administrative behavior was very similar to that of Uralmashzavod’s former owner Kakha Bendukidze (who had nearly brought the enterprise to its knees).

During the meeting, Oleg Sienko explained they’d only produced 170 cisterns in May 2009, with 340 more expected in June and 500 cisterns and 500 gondola wagons expected in July 2009. He did admit there was little hope for greater output at the moment.

The executive also informed the Governor that they had had some negotiations with the bank and that a special creditors’ committee had been set up.

Rossel pointed out the need to carry on with all of the enterprise’s social benefit schemes and to avoid any social disturbance either at the plant or in the city of Nizhniy Tagil.
