Mechel Bank gets new name

25.07.2008
Mechel Bank announced it was about to launch a re-branding campaign and to change its current name to Commercial Bank Monetniy Dvor (the Mint). The decision was taken at the bank’s extraordinary general meeting on July 23, 2008, the bank’s press officer reports.

The re-branding has been brought about by the bank’s growth and large-scale development.

‘The former name primarily referred to the city of Chelyabinsk; however, the bank is now operating all over the Urals, that is, in Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, and Orenburg Regions as well as in Moscow,’ the press officer explains.

‘The bank is a stable provincial financial organization whose shareholders have a responsible and professional approach to defining the company’s development strategy and to long- and short-term goal-setting. The idea of giving the bank a new name is both something the shareholders and the management have been thinking about for a long time and something that is now just about time to do. We are proud to see how much Mechel Bank has expanded over the last four years, and we are positive that Monetniy Dvor will expand even further and will become a dependable family bank for thousands of people in the Urals,’ says the bank’s Chairperson Elena Nesterova.
