Charges of Fraud in Bazhovskaya Underground Station Case

17.04.2020
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 17, 2020. Investigative authorities took criminal action, with charges of fraud, on the case involving the transfer of a land allotment for Bazhovskaya Underground Station, Sverdlovsk Region’s public prosecution authorities’ press service reports.

The public prosecution authorities’ investigation revealed some instances of malpractice relating to the way the land allotment was handled. According to the authorities, ‘one of the heads of an organization’ entered inaccurate information about the land allotment in the state register in 2015-2017. Instead of ‘a 280-slot parking lot’, ‘automobile maintenance’ was entered as a result of some editing.

‘In 2017, the said person misinformed the town council about the actual state of affairs, which resulted in a legally invalid additional agreement that went with the rental contract. Under the terms of the said agreement, the ‘automobile maintenance’ nature of the land allotment made it possible to put up provisional or permanent garage structures, parking lots, and multi-storey car parks (i.e. capital construction facilities) there,’ the press service says.
