Yekaterinburg Russia’s No. 3 In Terms of Buckwheat Prices

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 10, 2020. Buckwheat sales dropped by 11% in February 2020 compared with one year earlier; the grain sold for RUB 55.53 per kilo on average (up 10.7% on last February), TaxCom’s research findings indicate.

Buckwheat prices stood at their highest in Nizhniy Novgorod (RUB 71.44 per kilo) and Novosibirsk (RUB 67.56 per kilo) in February 2020. Yekaterinburg (RUB 65.5 per kilo) came third in this price rating.

It is reported that the price of buckwheat increased in every town the research looked into in the course of last year.

Buckwheat sales rose quite noticeably in Rostov-on-Don (+30%), Yekaterinburg (+20%), and Omsk (+11%) and dropped in Saint Petersburg (-22%), Kazan (-23%), and Nizhniy Novgorod (-24%) in February 2020 against February 2019.

The research relied on a statistical sample of depersonalized fiscal data obtained by TaxCom. Over 17 billion receipts got processed overall.
