OOO FORES: 30+ Kyrgyzstan Nationals Work as Charge Makers at Asbest Branch

UrBC, Asbest, January 13, 2020. Some thirty Kyrgyzstan nationals qualified and work as charge makers at OOO FORES’s Asbest branch. The training took about five months to complete, the company’s press service reports.

‘There are over 1,100 people working at FORES’s Asbest branch at the moment. 75% of them are Asbest natives, the rest come to do their shifts from nearby towns and villages. In 2019, more than a hundred new jobs were created at the plant, but we still have blue-collar job openings because of the natural staff turnover,’ the company says.

In September 2019, the company accepted the local Kyrgyz community’s suggestion that Kyrgyzstan nationals could come to work at the plant. Under the terms of the agreements signed by the Eurasian Economic Union member states, Kyrgyzstan nationals can get employed on the Russian market on the same terms as the locals with Russian passports. Just like the other workers, they support the town budget with their income tax payments. The plant also covers their medical insurance and offers residence-house accommodation, FORES informed UrBC. The company also says any other new employee coming to work from outside of Asbest is eligible for the same status and package.

The Kyrgyzstan nationals have been offered permanent contracts and underwent on-the-job training under their mentors’ supervision. For some of them, this was a blue-collar job qualification on top of an existing college degree.

‘Since we have plenty of orders, we can expand production and create new jobs, so any Urals’ resident willing to do their best at work is welcome. We are happy to take on hard-working people and look for them both in towns where our branches operate and in other places,’ says Director of OOO FORES’s Asbest branch Dmitri Viberg.

Provided a FORES worker meets their target output figures, the monthly salary comes to RUB 40,000 on average, which is close to Sverdlovsk Region market’s average and is more than in the towns where FORES operates its branches.

‘Most of our employees are locals; when there’s a job opening, these are locals who generally come to fill them in as well, and they tend to stay for long if their goal is to work and make money,’ says HR Director at OOO FORES Ekaterina Druzhinina.

Now According to Migration Department at Sverdlovsk Region’s division of Russia’s Internal Affairs Ministry, there are currently about 11,000 nationals of the Eurasian Economic Union member states among Sverdlovsk Region’s workforce.
