MMK Directs Nearly RUB 70m to Personnel Training in January-June

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 21, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) spent RUB 67.6m on personnel training in the first half of 2019, which exceeded the figures for one year earlier by 1.8 times, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

Between January and June 2019, more than 6,668 employees (including 3,770 people in blue-collar jobs and some 2,900 people in while-collar and managerial positions) underwent various continuous professional development and retraining programs. Nearly 2,000 workers went on professional development programs, and 922 people got trained or retrained for a range of qualifications. Additionally, MMK launched Safety School Corporate Training Program in 2018, which is currently unique to Russia.

Safety School is a custom-made training range for MMK and MMK Group’s employees. The primary goal is to reduce the number of accidents at work/work-related injuries and to drill performance routines for the most hazardous work sites. 853 workers completed the Safety School course in the first half of 2019.

MMK spent RUB 67.628m on training programs all in all in January-June 2019.

According to MMK’s Information & PR Department, at least 500 new graduates from Magnitogorsk’s vocational schools and colleges join MMK Group’s talent pool every year. The company coordinates a series of continuous professional training programs on the site.
