Ural Airlines To Operate First Airbus A320neo

9.08.2019
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 9, 2019. Ural Airlines added the first Airbus A320neo (side number: VP-BRX) to the company's fleet of aircraft. The plane arrived directly from Airbus assembly line in Toulouse and will now get operated on a lease from CDB Aviation, the air carrier's press service reports.

The company will receive four more new airplanes, including two Airbus A321neo ones, before the end of the year.

Ural Airlines is now the first Russian airline to operate an Airbus A320neo with LEAP-1A engines supplied by CFM International. These engines are more fuel-efficient than their current counterparts and help bring the plane's CO2 emissions down. Also, the plane wings are fitted with special sharklets and are made from composite materials which improve the aircraft's air performance.

The new air liners need 20% less fuel than the older models yet are suitable for longer-range flights than their older-generation counterparts. The plane has eight Business seats and 168 Economy seats all in all.

According to the air carrier's press service, this plane type has the widest cabin available in this airplane segment, with improved noise insulation and the roomiest luggage compartments. Airbus also introduced better overhead panels with eye-friendly LED reading lights for the passengers' convenience.
