UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 22, 2018. Some 30,000 Sverdlovsk Region locals had to face a power cut due to a hurricane that raged in eleven Mid-Ural towns; the wind speed was as high as 22-27 m/sec at certain points, Sverdlovsk Region division of Russia’s Ministry of Emergencies reports.

‘The roof of a shopping mall was partially destroyed in Aramil, as was a secondary school in Sukhoi Log and Culture Palace in Sysert. Damage assessment committees are now at work on sites, with repairs being planned,’ the division says.

55 rescue teams, a hundred professionals, and 53 special-purpose vehicles are now deployed to fix the problem.
