17.10.2017
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 17, 2017. Miners from EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Mine have produced 5,000,000,000 kg of coal since the start of the year. The symbolic piece of coal with the inscription ‘5,000,000,000 kg’ on it was presented to Raspadskaya Coal Company’s managers, the company press service reports.

‘This amount is an important benchmark for the company. Only two or three Russian coal-makers actually achieve this output figure in the course of one year. Raspadskaya’s team prove their professional skills with impressive results. Next year, our goal is to upgrade the equipment at Long Face 6-33 in order to keep expanding our production output,’ says Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Director-General Sergey Stepanov.

The miners are currently working on Sections 10 and 6-6a. They are also preparing the Long Face 7-7a. Up to 700,000,000 kg of coal get extracted from the three sections every month. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, 720,000,000 kg of coal got produced in June alone.

Miners’ safety is ensured through special ventilation/gas-suction schemes. This year, a number of highly productive exhausting fans were introduced in the mines; these ensure efficient airing of mines up to 1.5 km long. According to the company press service, this is the first time this kind of equipment has been launched at a Russian mine. Also, Deilmann-Haniel boring equipment is used to remove all excess methane well beforehand.
