PNTZ Monitors Emissions

16.10.2017
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 16, 2017. ChTPZ Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) installed a stationary atmospheric emissions monitoring unit, the company press service reports.

The up-to-date equipment takes test samples automatically 24/7. PNTZ invested around RUR 6m in the project.

The monitoring unit allows the plant to control the suspended particulate matter, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide, and carbon oxide content in the air, these being the most widespread harmful chemicals. The monitoring data will get transferred to the plant’s sanitary and epidemiological lab for processing and storage. All the data regarding quality of local air can be provided upon a formal request.

The location of the motioning unit got Ural Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Division’s approval. Given the local wind pattern and the proximity of production sites, the unit got installed next to residential buildings in accordance with the existing regulations.

‘ChTPZ Group does everything to ensure the highest environmental and industrial safety. Monitoring the state of the environment within our impact zone is one of the points of the agreement we have with Sverdlovsk Region Government. A stationary air emissions monitoring unit is an important part of the plant’s meeting its contractual obligations,’ says PNTZ Managing Director Alexei Dronov.
