MMK Directs RUR 158m to Healthcare

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, September 28, 2017. Over RUR 158m got directed to workers’ healthcare and medical projects at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) in the first half of the year, the company press service reports.

‘MMK makes every effort to keep its employees healthy. We’ve been running our Magnitka Healthcare Project for decades now; the project gets adjusted to the changing legislation and economic factors, and the goal is to prevent health problems among all our workers. Within the framework of this project, MMK employees are entitled to medical and health-restoring services that are part of their voluntary medical insurance package,’ the press service says.

The company paid for eleven workers’ hospital stays in Russia and abroad based on doctors’ recommendations; 1,147 workers got their dentist bills partially covered; fifteen workers were provided special hi tech medical services worth RUR 1.8m all in all; and 713 workers were given flu and encephalitis shots in the first half of 2017. MMK spent RUR 0.5m on this.

Additionally, the company’s special-purpose programs on treating back pain and lung problems involved 1,687 employees from all the basic production department as well as all other employees in the broncho-pulmonary and musculoskeletal risk groups.

The company directed RUR 158.67m to funding the medical programs and the workers’ hospital bills altogether.
