UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 3, 2017. Yekaterinburg Architecture & Urban Planning Department agreed on a project to put up a multi-purpose Judo Palace in Akademicheskiy District, the city council’s press service reports.

According to this project, the new building will be located opposite the new campus of Ural State Medical University in Chkalov St. The idea is to have the palace integrated into the Preobrazhensky Park complex, with a large square for public events on the left of the palace.

The entire complex area will be 8,600 m2 large, that of the three-floor building will be 15,600 m2 large. The palace will comprise both open-air and interior parking lots for 316 automobiles and 20 buses.

The building will look like a traditional Japanese structure, with the ritual torii gate and a fountain at the entrance. The rear facade will face the park and, since the palace is to be built on a slope, this side of the building will only be one-floor high.
