‘Environmental Troopers’ Come to EVRAZ Mine

27.06.2017
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 27, 2017. Representatives of Kemerovo Region’s Department of Natural Resources & the Environment, media reporters, and public group members went on a tour of EVRAZ Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Yerunakovskaya 8 Mine as part of the Russian Year of the Environment, the company press service reports.

The visitors were told about the company’s environmental policy, measures taken to protect local bodies of water, reduce harmful atmospheric emissions, and recycle mining waste. Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Director-General Sergey Stepanov greeted the ‘environmental troopers’ in person.

‘The rational use of water resources and environmental protection are EVRAZ Holding’s top priorities. The environmental legislation keeps growing increasingly stricter, and we must comply with it. We have a full understanding of our environmental responsibility and keep introducing the most up-to-date water-filtering technologies at all of our enterprises,’ he said.

The ‘troopers’ could also take a look at the modern filtering facilities where the manufacturing water gets filtered through the innovative, highly productive flotation filtering under pressure, reactant treatment, loose-fill filtering, and disinfection with sodium hypochlorite. This technology removes 96% of all the harmful substances from water (up to 98% for mineral products).
